Stratford Summer Music
JULY
15 - AUGUST 25, 2013
The 13th annual multi-week music festival will feature over 100 events including 300+ artists performing jazz, classical, opera, folk, organ and world music, set in indoor and outdoor venues throughout beautiful downtown Stratford, Ontario. Something for everyone!
During the 2013 season Stratford's "other festival" will be celebrating music from around the world with a special weekend Choral Symposium, "We Sing the World". There will be special events, concerts, discussions, workshops and exhibitions.
Concerts will be scheduled in the morning, afternoon and late night! You won’t want to miss the popular free concerts by the river every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the festival. Ticketed events feature local, national and international award-winning artists.
Attend a classical concert in the morning at one of Stratford’s historic churches; enjoy a lunchtime picnic by the river while listening to a free concert on the MusicBarge or experience brunch with music at the famed Rundles Restaurant, and still have plenty of time to do some shopping before attending a matinee performance at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival. After the show, stop at one of Stratford’s acclaimed restaurants for dinner before attending a jazz concert as part of Stratford Summer Music or attend an evening performance of the Stratford Shakespeare Festival. And if you are here on a Saturday night and like to stay up late, join in the fun at The Church Restaurant for a late night cabaret featuring some of the performers you might have seen at the theatre.
